Sunday Serenity 10-18-09

Oh Autumn,
Why do I dread your arrival,
When you greet me like this?

  2. septembermom: Happy Sunday to you, too! I am so grateful to just walk outdoors and see such a display of color. It really is beautiful.

  3. Fall and spring, nature's most vibrant seasons, with winter sandwiched between. Winter has its moments, too (perhaps our most pleasant season in Florida).

  4. Glorious! I love autumn for its berries and colours, but I confess I've always connected it with the coming of the season of gratitude and goodwill, childlike excitement and sentimental cosying up and trying harder. If you remind me, I'll post a haiku I did about that connection ages ago.

PS I love your new glitter generator!

  5. Auntie M: Winter does have its moments. Utah winters (where I'm at) are not nearly as bad as Iowa winters. I do like snow, I'll admit. Just not the white-out below zero feels-like-needles-stays-in 2-foot-piles-for-months kind.

Janice--I'd love to see the haiku about the fall-winter connection. I'm glad I took those pictures a few days ago when I did because today all the leaves are gone.

And I like that new glitter generator too. It's fun!

  6. Beautiful Randi. We dont seem to have much autumn colour round here this year. My dad used to call this kind of thing natures paintbox....cant beat it..

  7. Pen: I love that phrase--nature's paintbox. I would offer to share some of that autumn color with you, but as of today everything is brown and it's snowing! Thanks for stopping by, Pen!

You won't be paid for it, but at least you'll know that you have contributed intelligence to the universe...
